There are certain seasons of life that make you pause and recognize just how perfectly God has been working things together. My story has been filled with moments where God has brought people and circumstances together in ways that make it abundantly clear that He desires good for me, even when I cannot yet see what He is doing.
One of the biggest paths God led me down was attending Messiah University to study civil engineering and compete on the women’s swim team. It was there that I met my husband, Sage, who was also studying engineering and swimming on Messiah’s men’s swim team. With my dad being an engineer, I had wanted to study engineering since the seventh grade, and I had been swimming competitively since I was seven. At the time, I didn’t realize just how entangled my identity had become with becoming an engineer, being a girlfriend, and being a swimmer. During my freshman year of college, God made these struggles painfully clear. He showed me that engineering was not the right path for me, that being a girlfriend could not be my only source of community, and that swimming was only temporary. Sage walked alongside me as I changed my major to family and consumer science and learned to rely more fully on Christ and the people He had placed around me. Through my major, I developed a passion for nutrition, family, marriage, child development, and homemaking.
After graduating from college, my husband and I began our married life together in May 2025. We had not initially anticipated returning to Sage’s hometown, but once again, God was working through circumstances in ways we could not have planned ourselves. Sage was offered an engineering job, and we found an amazing apartment just down the road from his parents, Adam and Amy Sobek. Now that I can see the whole picture, it feels like God was carefully putting the puzzle pieces in place for the life He had planned for us. We both knew that we wanted to start a family, and in June 2026, we were blessed with our baby boy. As I reflect on my story, I am continually reminded that God has been preparing me for each season long before I could see where He was leading. What began as interests in nutrition, family, marriage, child development, and homemaking eventually became a much bigger part of my life as I became a wife and mother. These are the things I hope to share here, along with the lessons God continues to teach me as I walk through each new season.
